Zamboanga del Sur Residents Report Presence of Alleged Vote Buyers in their Area

VOTE BUYERS – Some residents in a barangay in Zamboanga del Sur claimed that there are men who are buying votes in their area.

It is only two(2) days left now before the Election 2019. Surely, a lot of the political candidates and as well as the public are anxious about the results of the political bid.

On May 13, a special non-working day in the Philippines, both local and national elections would take place. It is going to be a worldwide event that required a huge preparation.

Part of the preparation for the political bid is the campaign for a clean election. The election authorities and a lot of concerned individuals encourage the people not to be driven away by money or privileges in voting.

However, sadly, there are still a lot of reports that vote buying is allegedly happening in some areas in the country.

Vote Buyers

Based on a recent report on Inquirer, an area in Zamboanga del Sur is allegedly one of those that experience vote buying.

According to the post on its Twitter account, some residents in Barangay Dapiwak, Dumingag in Zamboanga del Sur claimed that there are male vote buyers in their place.

The residents further claimed that men buying votes of the public allegedly carry with them firearms.

Based on the post, following the report from the residents, the Alpha Coy 97th Infantry Batallion launched mobile patrol. They were able to seize P1-million cash in the area.
