Based on a report from ABS-CBN, the camp of Juan Ponce Enrile urged the Sandigan Bayan to show the evidence that is currently possessed by the prosecution.

The senator’s lawyer, Estelito Mendoza, wanted to see detailed evidence regarding the P172 million plunder case linking with the pork barrel scam.

Insofar as accused Enrile’s Motion for the Production of Material Evidence in the Possession of the Prosecution is concerned, the same be resolved at the earliest opportunity, at all events, in time for accused to study and consider the materials before trial is held,” said Mendoza.

According to the report, the Sandigan Bayan had submitted Juan Ponce Enrile’s camp a response saying their request is equivalent to a premature presentation of evidence.

“In the meantime, there is no sufficient basis for the accused to burden the prosecution to heed to their desire for copies of prosecution’s evidence when they were already afforded their full opportunity as early as the preliminary conference of this case,” said the prosecution.
