Manila Times editor Felipe “Ipe” Salvosa reportedly resigned over the issue surrounding the matrix of the alleged ouster plot against President Rodrigo Roa Duterte.
The issue over the alleged plot to remove Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte from office is still alive. Previously, Presidential Spokesperson Salvador Panelo released the matrix of the alleged “Oust Duterte Plot”.
In the said matrix, media organizations including Rappler were accused of being involved in the alleged plot to oust the 74-year-old President from Office.
To this, Felipe “Ipe” Salvosa, the managing editor of Manila Times, had something to say through the social media:
Recently, an update on the issue crossed the surface.
Based on a report on Rappler, Ipe Salvosa has resigned from being the managing editor of Manila Times.
Reportedly, Dante Ang, the owner and chairman emeritus of Times, was mad over the social media post of Salvosa questioning the involvement of the media organizations in the matrix.
Based on the report, Ang allegedly insisted on publishing a story linking the media organizations to the alleged ouster plot against Pres. Duterte to which Salvosa went against.
The managing editor who is also a journalism professor and journalism program coordinator of the University of Santo Tomas confirmed that he left the Times.
“I want to be able to teach and still look my students straight in the eye,” he said.
