Magnitude 4.7 Earthquake Hits Parts of Mindanao
The state volcanology agency Phivolcs reported that a magnitude 4.7 earthquake hits Davao Oriental around 11:43 am today.
On Wednesday (April 24, 2019), the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) announced that parts of Mindanao have been struck by a magnitude 4.7 earthquake.
Phivolcs said that the earthquake’s epicenter is located at 07.86°N, 126.88°E – 063 km N 57° E of Baganga (Davao Oriental).
The strong tremor was recorded around 11:43:47 a.m with a depth of 11 kilometers and has a tectonic origin.
Bislig City, Surigao Del Sur felt an Intensity 1 quake, according to the seismology agency.
Phivolcs was not also expecting damage and aftershocks after the tremor.
