Former ASEAN Secretary-General Rodolfo Severino Died, Son Confirms
ASEAN SECRETARY-GENERAL RODOLFO SEVERINO DIED – Former Secretary-General of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations Rodolfo Severino passed away.
One of the Filipinos who has been part of the ASEAN and became ambassador of the Philippines abroad is the late Rodolfo Severino. He is also the father of Kapuso anchor and i-Witness host Howie Severino.
Based on a report on GMA News, the elder Severino was the ASEAN Secretary-General from 1998 to 2002. He has also taken responsibilities as the ASEAN Senior Official for the Philippines not just once but for two terms.
Recently, a sad update about Mr. Rodolfo Severino crossed the surface.
According to the report, Ex-ASEAN Secretary-General Rodolfo Severino died at the age of 82 years old on Friday night, April 19, 2019. His passing was confirmed by his son, Howie.
According to the GMA News anchor, he went back to Manila to be with his dad who suffers from breathing difficulty and low and erratic blood pressure.
“He was responsive,” Howie wrote in a social media post.
The son of the former Secretary-General further narrated that he played a song for his father – ‘Some Enchanted Evening’ and soon after the music ended, his dad also stopped breathing and passed away.
