Train Lines Releases Operating Hours for Holy Week 2019

Major train lines announced their operating schedules during the observance of Holy Week particularly from April 18 to 21, 2019.

Nowadays, most Filipino people rely on public utility vehicles to reach their point of destination.

The train is one of the most common public utility vehicles not only in the Philippines but also in different countries all around the world.

Train Lines

The cancellation of train operations could affect hundreds or even thousands of Filipino commuters.

Recently, several train lines announced that they will temporarily suspend their operation from April 18 (Maundy Thursday) to April 21 (Easter Sunday).

Light Rail Transit Lines 1 and 2 and Metro Rail Transit-3 also halted their operations for the annual maintenance works.

The Philippine National Railways also informed the public that their operations will be suspended on Maundy Thursday, Good Friday and Black Saturday but the operation would resume on Easter Sunday afternoon.

Here is the list of train schedules for Lenten season:

LRT-1

  • April 18-21 (Maundy Thursday to Easter Sunday) – No revenue operation
  • April 22 (Monday) – Regular operation resume

LRT-2

  • April 17 (Holy Wednesday) – Last commercial train departure at 7 p.m. for Santolan; 7:30 p.m. for Recto
  • April 18, 19, 20, 21 (Maundy Thursday to Easter Sunday) – No commercial operation
  • April 22 (Monday) – Regular operation resume

MRT-3

  • April 15-21 (Holy Monday to Easter Sunday) – No commercial operation
  • April 22 (Monday) – Regular operation resume

PNR 

Metro North and Metro South 

  • April 18, 19, 20 (Maundy Thursday to Black Saturday) – No commercial train operations
  • April 21 (Easter Sunday) – Train operations to resume at 1:37 p.m. (Tutuban-Alabang) and 1:02 p.m. (Tutuban-Governor Pascual)

Bicol

  • April 18, 19, 20 (Maundy Thursday to Black Saturday) – No commercial train operations
  • April 21 (Easter Sunday) – Trains operations to resume at 3:30 p.m.
