The Land Transportation Office in the Philippines is not only in-charged for the issuance of LTO Driver’s License and LTO Student Permits. It is also the government body taking account of the registration of vehicles.
With regards to the motor vehicle registration to LTO, the government agency has prepared different lists of requirements and procedures for locally assembled vehicles and imported vehicles.
Based on the official website of the Land Transportation Office, for the LTO registration of brand new imported vehicles, here are the steps and the requirements needed:
What To Prepare:
- Original Sales Invoice or Commercial Invoice issued by the Country of Origin
- Appropriate Insurance Certificate of Cover
- Original Certificate of Stock Reported (CSR)
- Original PNP-HPG MV Clearance Certificate
What To Do:
- Visit an LTO branch with your requirements and go to the transaction counters. Have your documents checked by the person in charged for the evaluation and computation of payments.
- Go to the cashier and wait for your name to be called. Once your name has been called, proceed and pay for the fees and receive your copy of the Official Receipt (OR).
- Go to the Releasing Counter and receive your Certificate of Registration, RFID or stickers, and plates.
