UP Diliman ER Closed for 48 Hours Due To Suspected Meningococcemia Case
UP DILIMAN ER – The University of the Philippines-Diliman Emergency Room is temporarily closed due to a suspected case of meningococcemia.
One of the serious health conditions that need a careful handling is the
meningococcemia. It is caused by bacteria and can be passed on from one person to another.
Among the symptoms of this contagious condition are fever, rashes, irritability, headache, and anxiety. Any hospital or medical center with a suspected case of this disease need disinfection. That is what a Manila hospital ER previously did.
Recently, another emergency room was temporarily closed due to a suspected case of meningococcemia.
Based on a recent report on ABS-CBN News, the UP Diliman ER is now temporarily closed due to a suspected meningococcemia case.
According to the report, the closing of infirmary is part of the move of the UP Health Services after a patient with some symptoms of the said rare disease died.
The director of the UP hospital announced that the UP Diliman ER will be closed for 48 hours for the UV light disinfection. In the statement released, it is stated that it was not yet confirmed if meningococcemia was really the cause of the death of the patient.
