House 2019 Budget Books Taken Back from Senate Amid Issues

HOUSE 2019 BUDGET – The House of Representatives has taken back from the Senate its national budget books for 2019.

Currently, certain branches and agencies under the government are on the process of finalizing their budget for this year 2019. One of them is the House of Representatives which recently sent its budget books to the Senate.

However, there are questions with regards to the said 2019 national budget. Previously, Senate President Vicente “Tito” Sotto expressed that it was “unfaithful” to what gained the approval of the bicameral committee.

Furthermore, Sen. Sotto also expressed that it did not abide to what was ratified. Based on a report on Manila Bulletin, in a text message to the media, he said he could have sent it back but he did not “as prudence dictates”.

According to the report, previously, House Speaker Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo expressed that they will not withdraw their itemization on their books. A day after it, the former President ordered its retrieval.

According to Camarines Sur Rolando Andaya Jr., the order of the former President is in the pursuit of putting an end to issue on the Php 3.757-trillion proposed budget.

Recently, an update regarding the matter crossed the surface.

Based on a social media post of Super Radyo DZBB 594khz on its Facebook page, the House 2019 budget was officially recalled from the Senate.

As of this writing, there are still no further details on the retrieval of the proposed 2019 budget.
