Tito Sotto Breaks Silence on Negative Criticisms towards Him

Sen. Tito Sotto Stresses His ‘An Easy Target’

TITO SOTTO – Senate President Vicente ‘Tito’ Sotto broke his silence on the negative criticisms thrown towards him by his bashers.

Recently, Sen. Tito Sotto’s name was on news reports after he replaced Sen. Aquilino ‘Koko’ Pimental III as the President of the Senate. The latter stepped down and agreed to pass on the leadership to the former.

Sen. Tito Sotto is not only known in the political arena but as well as in the field of show business. He is one of the longtime hosts under the GMA-7 network alongside with his brother Vic Sotto and Joey de Leon.

Sen. Tito Sotto, Vic Sotto, and Joey de Leon are the mainstay hosts of the Kapuso noontime variety show Eat Bulaga. They work together with Allan K, Jose Manalo, Paolo Ballesteros, Wally Bayola, Ruby Rodriguez, Alden Richards, and Maine Mendoza among others in the show.

Previously, the TV host-turned-politician hooked attention when he was accused of copying a part of a blog and using it in his speech without credits. It was a blogger based in the United States who accused him in 2012.

Based on a report, the now-Senate President also earned negative criticisms by his ‘na ano lang’ comment to former Department of Social Welfare and Development Secretary Judy Taguiwalo for having two children without a husband.

The past issues involving Sen. Tito Sotto are now resurfacing after he took his seat as the Senate President. Speaking to Jessica Soho of the State of the Nation on GMA News TV, the politician expressed that he tries to stay positive as much as possible.

According to him, most bashers just don’t have anything to do. He stressed that aside from having a perfect attendance, he has passed more than 160 bills to laws.

“Yung inilalagay ko sa isip ko, yung 17 million Filipinos na bumoto sa akin. Hindi yung 300 na bashers or baka less pa,” he said.

Based on the report, Sen. Tito Sotto expressed that he is not fond of broadcasting all his good deeds and the bills that he has passed. He also stressed that he is “an easy target” to the bashers because of the popularity of Eat Bulaga which is one of the longest-running shows.

“Maraming kalaban yung programa na yun, so hindi nakakapagtaka kung mapapag-initan kami. So, I’m an east target,” he said.

According to the Senate President, he has lots of works to do in his new post in the Senate. He lifts up to God all the criticisms against him and stressed that He knows the truth.
