BREAKING NEWS: Road Board Abolition Approved By Duterte

Pres. Duterte Approved Road Board Abolition

ROAD BOARD ABOLITION – Philippine President Rodrigo Roa Duterte approved the call for the abolition of the Road Board.

Previously, a call to abolish the RB sparked following the corruption allegations involving congressmen. Some congressmen allegedly use the fund of the board inappropriately.

The Senate pushed for the abolition of the board and the transfer of its funds to the National Treasury. Reportedly, annually, around P12 billion may be collected from the tax of the motorists.

Senate President Vicente “Tito” Sotto III assigned Senate Majority Leader Migz Zubiri to lead the call for RB abolition. He set a meeting with House Majority Leader Rolando Andaya.
