In the Philippines, there are several courses whose graduates need to take a board exam to obtain the license. Most of these courses are taking the licensure exam under the Professional Regulation Commission or PRC.
The PRC is the government agency conducting board exams to the graduates of a lot of courses. The list includes education, engineering, dentistry, nursing, and criminology.
On the part of many takers, aside from preparing a lot for the licensure exam and applying for it at PRC, there is another thing that hooks them – the superstition.
In the Philippines, there are at least five(5) board exam superstitious beliefs that many people are considering during the exam day. Although they are not fully justified, a lot of people fear that not following them may affect the result.

1. Wear something red
Red has always been tagged as lucky color. It is believed by many people that wearing something read on the exam day is a lucky charm to pass the exam.
2. Step in the room with your right foot first
It is said that takers should enter the room with their right foot first. Perhaps, this superstition is in line with what the side of the foot conveys – “right”.
3. Kick the chair when you leave
Another superstition is with regards to the chair. It is said that you should kick the chair when you leave the room as it prevents you from coming back again for the exam.
4. Look straight in going out of the room
Many board exam takers have surely heard of the superstition that says takers should look straight in going out of the room after the exam – there should be no looking back.
5. Break the pencil after the exam
There is also a board exam superstitious beliefs with regards to the pencil used in answering the exam. It is said that the taker should break it right after taking the exam to prevent failing.
Meanwhile, no matter how hit they are, surely, they can’t affect the result of the exam. It still depends on your faith and your preparation while working your way to it.
