Full List of LTO Student Permit Requirements that Applicants Must Prepare

LTO STUDENT PERMIT REQUIREMENTS – Here is a full list of the requirements that applicants of a Land Transportation Office (LTO) student permit must prepare.

Even if you have yet to reach the full eligibility for a professional or non-professional LTO driver’s license, you may still drive or operate a motor vehicle provided that you have an LTO Student Permit.

The Student Permit is issued by the office for qualified applicants who are at least 17 years old, physically and mentally fit, and able to read and write. Foreigners who have stayed in the country for at least one(1) year may also apply for it.

For the application, there is a set of LTO Student Permit requirements that you must provide, compile, and submit to the Land Transportation Office (LTO) where you plan to apply for a driving permit.

On its official website, the Land Transportation Office has posted the full list of LTO Student Permit requirements that applicant must prepare. Here is the list:

  • Duly-accomplished Application form for Driver’s License (ADL)
  • Original and photocopy of the birth certificate duly authenticated by National Statistics Office (NSO)
  • For applicants below 18 years of age: Original copy of parental/guardian’s consent with original and photocopy of one (1) valid government issued Identification Card containing the signature of the consenting parent/guardian
  • Medical Certificate issued by any licensed practicing physician stating that the applicant is physically and mentally fit to operate a motor vehicle or otherwise stating his/her impairment.

According to LTO, foreigners who wanted to apply for a student permit for driving must comply with the following additional LTO Student Permit requirements:

  • Original and photocopy of passport with an entry date of at least one (1) month
  • Visa duration of at least one (1) year from date of application
  • If born in the Philippines: Original and photocopy of the birth certificate duly authenticated by the NSO.

Provide all the requirements and submit it together with the duly-accomplished ADL form to the LTO branch office where you wish to apply for a student permit.
