Ban on Liquid Items in MRT-3 Liften, New Rule To Be Observed Announced
MRT-3 – The ban on the bringing of liquid items inside the Metro Rail Transit is lifted and a new rule is set to be observed.
Recently, for security purposes following the alarming incidents in the different parts of the Philippines, the MRT-3 set a ban on liquid items like bottled water. The said policy became the talk for several days.
Some commuters are not in favor of the ban of liquid water inside the public transportation considering the heat while others totally understand that it is for the safety of everyone.
Previously, amid the ban on liquid items, the MRT-3 released the list of substances that are allowed inside the train. The list includes the milk bottles for babies, medicines, drinking water for kids, life-support substances, beverage for persons with disabilities, and cosmetics.
Recently, an update regarding the ban of liquid items in MRT-3 crossed the surface. The transit posted a statement on its social media account announcing the lifting of the ban and the new rule to be observed.
Based on the post on its Facebook page, liquid items with more than 100ml volume capacity are now allowed inside the train and the train stations provided it will be checked in front of the security personnel for verification.
If you will be bringing a bottle of water, you will have to drink it in front of the security personnel. If you have with you perfume or lotion, you must spray it or wipe it in your hands respectively.
With regards to the liquid items that were previously confiscated, the owner may now claim it from the station where it was confiscated. You just have to bring your ID and show it to the supervisor.
