Marinduque Hit by Earthquake with 3.9 Magnitude
EARTHQUAKE – The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) recorded a 3.9 magnitude quake in Marinduque this afternoon, February 6, 2019.
Most of the time, quakes hit with no prior signs. Recently, several places in and out of the Philippines were shaken by quakes of different magnitudes.
One of the latest quakes recorded by Phivolcs is the 7.1 magnitude quake in Davao Oriental. There were expected aftershocks due to the said quake and a tsunami advisory was released.
Recently, Phivolcs recorded another quake in a part of Marinduque. At 02:01:57 in the afternoon today, February 6, 2019, Marinduque was hit by an earthquake with a magnitude of 3.9.
According to Phivolcs, the quake that hit a part of Marinduque today was located at 13.74°North, 121.74°East – 021 km South 18° West of Padre Burgos.
The quake was tectonic in origin and had a depth of 005 kilometers.
Based on the bulletin posted by Phivolcs on its official Twitter page, there is no expected damage caused by the quake that hit Marinduque. Furthermore, there is also no expected aftershock.
