Although investigations have yet to name politics as really the reason behind, the possibility that what happened to them is work-related cannot be avoided. Thorough investigations must really be implemented.

Among the politicians who recently passed away months before the 2019 election are AKO Bicol Party-list Representative Rodel Batocabe and Quezon City Barangay Chairman Criselle Beltran.

Baldo is the incumbent mayor of Daraga. Batocabe was also set to run for the mayoral post. On his part, the Daraga Mayor denied the allegations.

On January 30, 2019, Criselle Beltran, a barangay chairman of Quezon City, was attacked together with her driver. Both of them did not survive the incident.
