State of Calamity Declared in Davao del Norte Capital ‘Tagum City’

DAVAO DEL NORTE – Tagum City, the capital of Davao del Norte, is now under the State of Calamity due to flooding.

Recently, several natural calamities hit the parts of Davao region. Both the Davao Oriental and the Davao Occidental were jolted by consecutive earthquakes almost every day.

Aside from the quakes, Davao City rivers also previously reached critical levels prompting the evacuation of more than 200 families. The Bunawan River hit the warning level which also sparked forced evacuation.

Recently, a part of the Davao region is hit by severe flooding that prompted the declaration of the State of Calamity in the place.

Based on a recent social media post on the Facebook page of Manila Bulletin, Davao del Norte’s capital city “Tagum City” is now under the State of Calamity.

The aerials photos of Pagsabangan in Tagum City showed that the flooding covered a huge part of the city. Most likely, the floodwater has entered many houses. Vehicles also had to cross the flooded areas.
