Video titled “Bunso” that Illustrates the Miserable Life of a Young Boy in Prison

YOUNG BOY – The video “Bunso” illustrates the miserable life of a young boy inside the prison.

The Juvenile Justice and Welfare Act is a system that deals with children who committed a crime. These children who are in conflict with the law are put into rehabilitation or prison.

The author of the proposed act is Senator Francis “Kiko” Pangilinan and was signed and approved by former president Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo in 2006.

Following a previous article, Senator Vicente “Tito” Sotto proposed to lower the criminal liability of children from 15 to 12 years old.

This is due to the alarming rise in the number of children who get involved in serious crimes.

A lot of people were against the proposal of Tito Sotto. These people pity the children who will be sent to jail in just a very young age.

Despite the public opposition, some of the members of the House of the Representatives approve the bill that seeks to lower the age.

A netizen named Marielle Santos Del Rosario shared a heartbreaking video of a young boy in a prison in Cebu City. 

As of this writing, the viral video garnered 73,914 shares and 1.4 million views on Facebook.

It is a documentary video titled “Bunso” which tells the story of an 11-year-old boy named Diosel who was jailed because of stealing money from somebody’s house.

It features the miserable situation of Diosel inside the prison. On how he cope up when he got sick and during rainy days without clothes.

The creators of the video aim to spread awareness to all the Filipino people on how heart-wrenching to see a very young child being in prison instead of being taught on what is right and wrong.
