Latest Updates on Tropical Depression Amang Released by PAGASA

The state weather bureau PAGASA released the newest and the latest updates about Tropical Depression Amang affecting the country’s weather condition.

On Monday (January 21, 2019), the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) reported the recent news about weather condition in the country.

PAGASA said that Amang was last spotted at 60 kilometers north northeast of Surigao City, Surigao del Norte.

Tropical Depression Amang

Amang has maximum sustained winds of 45 kilometers per hour (kph) and gustiness of up to 60 kph moving 25 kph at a northwest direction.

The weather bureau also raised tropical cyclone warning signals in the following areas:

  • Eastern Samar
  • Samar
  • Biliran
  • Leyte
  • Southern Leyte
  • Eastern part of Bohol
  • Northern part of Cebu
  • Agusan del Norte
  • Surigao del Sur
  • Surigao del Norte
  • Dinagat Islands
  • Camiguin

The weather disturbance would bring moderate to heavy rain Eastern Visayas, Central Visayas, and Bicol.

PAGASA also warned the fisher folks that sea travel remains risky due to the effects of Amang of surge of the northeast monsoon.
