Shipped Garbage In MICT To Be Returned To Korea On January 9

Mislabeled Shipped Garbage Sent By Verde Soko Will Be Sent Back To Korea On January 9

SHIPPED GARBAGE – Tons of shipped garbage in the MICT given by Verde Soko will be transferred back to Korea on January 9 (Wedesday).

A few months ago, a shipment from Verde Soko Philippines Industrial Corporation, a Korean company, came to the Mindanao International Container Terminal in Misamis oriental.

It is said to contain “plastic synthetic flakes”, which is used to produce plastic pellets and be used as an alternative fuel. However, what came instead are piles of garbage, weighing at about 1,200 tons. MICT Port Collector John Simon, noted that it’s supposed to contain what is labeled, no more, no less.

Verde Soko has another shipment to be delivered to the Philippines but it was put on hold by the BOC until they will send an entry declaration and an environmental permit from the DENR.

Recently, according to an article in Bombo Radyo the Bureau of Customs recently said that the pile of garbage is scheduled to be sent back to Korea.

The pile of garbage, which was placed in 51 containers, will be shipped directly to Pyeongtaek City in South Korea.

As per the report, Simon said that they expect the 51 garbage-filled containers stored at MICT (Mindanao International Container Terminal) to be home-bound by January 9 provided that all regulatory requirements are readily available.
