MOIRA DELA TORRE – The singer Moira Dela Torre has this odd way of lambasting a basher who called her offensive remarks such as “panget” and “baboy”.
Filipina singer-songwriter Moira Dela Torre is known for her songs “Malaya”, “Titibo-tibo”, and cover of Imago’s “Sundo”. She was already singing songs for commercial jingles before she auditioned for The Voice Philippines. But got eliminated in the next round under the team of Apl De Ap.
She had a big break in her career as a singer when she sang the official soundtrack of the movie Camp Sawi and Love You to the Stars and Back. Also, she performed the Himig Handog 2017 winner song “Titibo-tibo”.
Moira is engaged to Jason Marvin, also a singer, and they are getting married this month.
However, in a Twitter post, the singer wrote, “To the rude kuya shouting “ang taba mo laki mo moira panget taba” while i was performing last night..i was so tempted to look at you & give you a piece of my mind. But i didnt want anyone feeling how you made me feel. Even you.”
In another post, she continued, “Women are beautiful whatever size and may i be the last person you disrespect like that. May you learn to love yourself enough that you won’t need to bring people down just to feel “funny” or important. If ur reading this, i hope next year showers you love.”
Indeed, women are beautiful no matter what size or how much she weighs. It should be the heart and the attitude that’s more important. And Moira just did the right thing in “slamming” the offensive remarks she has heard from a stranger.
