Fil-Am Singer Apl.de.Ap Promotes New Food in the United States

Filipino-American singer Apl.de.Ap visited the Bay Area of the United States to help promote the new innovations of Filipino food. The event dubbed as “Savor the Night,” allowed guess to try new takes on Filipino food and to meet and interact with The Voice Philippines coach Apl.de.Ap himself.

The Grammy winner singer was quoted as saying during the event “We’re very passionate with our cooking so we put our heart and soul into it so everyone should feel that. It’s like the soul food of Asia,” he said.

According to the founder of the Filipino movement, PJ Quesada, the Fil-Am singer, a prominent member of the band Black Eyed Peas cooks for the band. He was quoted saying “He cooks for the band when they’re on tour. He’s always been an aficionado of Filipino food so the connection was always very natural for us,” Quesada said.

The event attended by Apl.de.ap which is a charity event, the proceeds went toward the Apl.de.ap Foundation International for projects in the Philippines to combat blindness and to support education for children.

The event organized by Filipino chefs in the United states is one of the many that the Filipino Food Movement hosts in order to spread the word about the growing trend of Filipino cuisine.
