Diabetes, High-Cholesterol, Hypertension Medicines Taxless Beginning 2019
MEDICINES – The Department of Finance (DOF) announced that the medicines against diabetes, high-cholesterol, and hypertension will be taxless starting year 2019.
Currently, we are down to the last days of 2018 and a new year is about to unfold. Surely, everyone is hoping that the next year will be a whole lot better and lots of improvements would cross the surface.
As early as now, two days before a new year begins, a good news for many people is already here. The DOF announced that certain remedies for health problems will come with no tax.
Based on a recent post on the Facebook account of Department of Finance, the medicines for diabetes, high-cholesterol, and hypertension will be taxless starting 2019.
According to DOF, the Value Added Tax (VAT) will not be implemented on the medicines for diabetes, high-cholesterol, and hypertension in line with the provisions of the Tax Reform for Acceleration and Inclusion (TRAIN) Law.
