Sandiganbayan Acquits Former Caloocan City Mayor Recom Echiverri in another Graft Case

Based on a report on Inquirer, the P1.78-million project was supposedly implemented without the approval of the city council. The said project was done in 2011 at Barangay 176 Bagong Silang.
Recently, the Sandiganbayan has given its verdict on a graft case against former Caloocan City Mayor Recom Echiverri. The court acquitted the former mayor over the charges regarding the multi-million walkway and drainage project.
Based on the report, the First Division of Sandiganbayan gave weight to the ruling of the Commission on Audit (COA) on June 25, 2017.
The ruling reportedly lifted the disallowance of unauthorized projects. The total projects cost Php 979.06 million.
Out of the 57 graft cases against the former Caloocan Mayor, he was already acquitted four(4) times. The politician is currently facing 53 graft cases more to go.
