Occidental Mindoro Jolted by 3.1 Magnitude Earthquake

EARTHQUAKE – The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) recorded that a 3.1 magnitude quake jolted Occidental Mindoro today, December 18, 2018.

Almost every day, quakes occur in different areas around the world. One of the countries that is usually hit by it is the Philippines. Phivolcs has recently recorded several quakes in the different areas in PH.

On December 5-6, a series of five(5) quakes hit Surigao del Sur. Fortunately, there were no reports of injury or damages caused by the quake. Four(4) days after it, South Ubian, Tawi-Tawi was hit by a 4.7 magnitude quake.

On December 13, a 3.5 magnitude quake hit Davao Occidental and a 3.4 magnitude quake hit Nueva Vizcaya yesterday, December 17, 2018.

Recently, Phivolcs recorded another quake jolting an area in PH today, December 18, 2018.

Earthquake

According to Phivolcs, a 3.1 magnitude earthquake jolted Occidental Mindoro noontime today. It was located at 13.60°N, 120.62°E – 026 km N 40° East of Paluan in Occidental Mindoro.

The quake was tectonic in origin and has a 091 depth of focus. Based on the bulletin released by Phivolcs, no damage and aftershock is expected of the quake.
