Former Davao City Vice Mayor Paolo Duterte Files Case Vs. Sen. Trillanes, Senator To Post Bail

TRILLANES – Philippine Senator Antonio Trillanes IV is set to post bail over the case filed against him by presidential son and former Davao City Vice Mayor Paolo Duterte.

Previously, former Davao City Vice Mayor Paolo Duterte filed libel complaints against Sen. Antonio Trillanes IV. His brother-in-law, Attorney Manases Carpio, the husband of his sister Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte, also filed a separate complaint.

The complaints of former Davao City Vice Mayor Duterte and Atty. Carpio were over the previous corruption accusations of the Senator against them. They were accused of corruption involving ride-hailing companies.

Recently, a court in Davao City released a warrant of arrest against Sen. Antonio Trillanes over the libel case filed by former Davao City Mayor Paolo Duterte against him.

The warrant of arrest against the Senator was released by the Davao City Regional Trial Court Branch 54. It was signed by presiding judge Melinda Arconcel-Dayanghirang.

In the said warrant of arrest letter, it is stated that the bond for the release of the Senator is fixed at Php 24,000.00. It must undergo approval of “any judge of any Regional Trial Court sitting in the province of City where the accused is being held”.

Recently, an update regarding the case crossed the surface. Based on a social media post on the Facebook page of Super Radyo DZBB 594khz, Sen. Trillanes is set to post bail over the case filed by presidential son Paolo Duterte.

According to the post, it is at the Pasay Regional Trial Court wherein Sen. Trillanes is set to post bail over the libel case filed by former Davao City Vice Mayor Paolo Duterte. He will reportedly post bail today.
