PAGASA: Tropical Depression Samuel Latest Updates, Storm Signals, & Location
PAGASA released the latest updates, storm signals, and the location of Tropical Depression Samuel affecting the country’s weather condition.
On Tuesday (November 20, 2018), the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) reported that Samuel was last spotted at 395 kilometers east of Surigao City, Surigao del Norte.
The tropical depression maintains its strength packing maximum sustained winds of 55 kilometers per hour (kph) and gustiness of up to 65 kph moving 20 kph at northwest direction.
Samuel is expected to make a land over Dinagat-Samar-Leyte area this evening and it is also expected to intensify into a tropical storm.
The weather agency raised tropical cyclone warning signal no.1 in the following areas:
- Masbate including Ticao Island
- Romblon
- Southern Oriental Mindoro
- Southern Occidental Mindoro
- Northern Palawan (Cuyo Island and the Calamian Islands)
- Northern Samar
- Eastern Samar
- Samar
- Biliran
- Leyte
- Southern Leyte
- Bohol
- Cebu
- Siquijor
- Negros Oriental
- Negros Occidental
- Guimaras
- Iloilo
- Capiz
- Aklan
- Antique
- Dinagat Islands
- Surigao del Norte
- Surigao del Sur
- Agusan del Norte
- Agusan del Sur
- Misamis Oriental
- Camiguin
Forecast position:
- Wednesday (November 21, 2018) – Guinsanga-an, Inopacan’s vicinity
- Thursday morning (November 22, 2018) – 130 kms north of Puerto Princesa City
- Friday morning (November 23, 2018) – 525 kms west-northwest of Palawan’s Puerto Princesa City (Outside PAR)
The weather bureau also advised the residents in the affected areas to take precautionary measures for possible flashfloods and landslides.
