Ex-First Lady Imelda Marcos Comes At Sandiganbayan To Attend Graft Hearing
Former first lady Imelda Marcos arrived at Sandiganbayan to attend the hearing on her appeal against the graft charges filed against her.
Ilocos Norte 2nd District Representative Imelda Marcos showed up at the court for her motion to be granted post-conviction bail while holding a rosary.
Marcos arrived at the anti-graft court together with her son former Senator Bongbong Marcos and daughter Imee Marcos.
Imelda was convicted for seven counts of graft wherein she will be sentenced from 6 to 11 years for each count for allegedly illegally forming organizations in Switzerland.
The ex-first lady skipped her promulgation on November 9, 2018, claiming that she suffered from multiple organ infirmities and advised to avoid stressful situations.
The anti-graft court found Imelda Marcos guilty for funneling public funds to overseas bank accounts and ordered to post P150,000 bail.
This is the second conviction of the 89-year-old-widow who was convicted for two counts of graft in 1993 but acquitted in 1998.
