Marawi internally-displaced people stated DSWDÂ food packs were “bulok na”
Internally-displaced persons in Marawi City complained that food packs from DSWD were “bulok na”.
The said city in Mindanao went through terrifying days when terrorist group Maute tried to control it.
People living their had to leave their homes, works and business for their safety. During and after the siege, Marawi was indeed a heartbreaking sight to behold.
When the situation was already under the control of the Armed Forces of Philippines, rehabilitation commenced.
As the restoration of the city continues, the government is also providing for the food of internally-displaced people there.
On the other hand, residences in Marawi complained about the food pack they received from the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD).
Based on the report of DZMM Teleradyo, the food packs were full of worms already. With this, no one could eat the food anymore.
It was said that Siapco Incorporated, which is one of the entities involved in the rehabilitation of the city, has already stated this matter to DWSD for several times.
The food packs had Php 589 million budget but only P100 can only be consumed, based on the report.
IDPs in Marawi asked the government to just give them the money. They will just but their own food no matter how small amount of money they will receive.
What can you say about this?
