TAWAG NG TANGHALAN – The Tawag ng Tanghalan November 10 winner is still the defending champion from Visayas Johanna Villarojo.
Johanna Villarojo is the defending champion to be defeated in order to have the title and the “golden mikropono”. She beat the former champion Prolifer Fesalbon, the November 8 winner.
And for this day, the daily contenders were Charlie Garais, Ronald Melendrez, and Shane Leslee Castillo who got in through auditioning in Star Hunt.
However, Melendrez was refrained from singing and was “gonged” by “GongBassador” Ryan Bang. Punong Hurado Rey Valera advised him to listen carefully while singing to the instruments accompanying his song. The veteran singer hopes to see the daily contender again in the competition.
While the judges were Maestro Louie Ocampo, Ogie Alcasid, Yeng Constantino, Randy Santiago, and the “Punong Hurado” is Rey Valera.
And for today, the daily winner garnering 92.8% is the Star Dreamer Shane Castillo and faces Johanna Villarojo in Tapatan.
For this day’s final round, Shane sang a classic old song “Maghintay Ka Lamang” while the defending champion from the Visayas performed Barbara Streisand’s “Somewhere”.
The judges were torn in choosing the winner but in the end, they have decided to choose Johanna Villarojo to remain as the defending champion with an average score of 93.6%.
Tawag Ng Tanghalan is a prominent amateur singing contest in the Philippines aired in the noontime show Its Showtime which is now on its third year.
