Kinder Student Injured After Ceiling Collapses During Quake In Iloilo

A kinder student got injured and hurt after the ceiling inside their classroom collapsed during the magnitude 4.8 earthquake in Iloilo.

On Monday (November 5, 2018), the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) reported that the province of Iloilo has been struck by a magnitude 4.8 quake.

In Guimbal, Iloilo, a preschooler was injured after a portion of the classroom’s ceiling suddenly collapsed due to the tremor.

The young girl suffered a minor abrasion and was quickly allowed to go home, according to Teacher Marie Claire Era.

The teacher said that the students immediately leave Igcocolo Elementary School after the ceiling collapsed.

Teacher Marie also explained that the teachers, school personnel, and students were all safe during the evacuation.

The tremor with an intensity of 4 has been felt by the motorists passing along San Jose de Buenavista town in Antique and in Iloilo.

Roxas City, the town of Dao in Capiz and the town of Belison in Antique experienced an Intensity 3 earthquake.

The seismology agency also said that Intensity 2 was felt in Cadiz town in Negros Oriental and President Roxas town in Capiz.
