Monster Storm “Rosita” Cuts Power Lines In 4 Provinces

Monster storm “Rosita” carrying heavy rains and strong winds cuts down at least four power lines and causes devastation in four provinces.

Yesterday (October 31, 2018), Typhoon Rosita (Yutu) made a landfall in Dinapigue town, Isabela province with maximum sustained winds of 140 kilometers per hour (kph) and gustiness of 240 kph.

The typhoon brings moderate rains over Benguet, Mountain Province, Pangasinan, La Union, and Ilocos Sur.

Rosita knocked down trees, power posts, and ripped roods off small houses in the typhoon-affected areas.

The Office of the Civil Defense (OCD) in Cagayan Valley said that the disastrous typhoon also downed the power lines in four provinces including Cagayan, Isabela, Quirino, and Nueva Vizcaya.

The weather disturbance lashes the towns of San Guillermo, Jones, Echague, San Agustin and Santiago City and blown Quirino, Nueva Vizcaya, and Benguet.

The strong waves in 3 towns of Northern Samar province also destroyed over 100 houses made up of light materials.

The tropical cyclone was expected to leave the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) on Wednesday afternoon.
