Bureau of Customs Put Under Temporary Military Control by Pres. Duterte
DUTERTE – Philippine President Rodrigo Roa Duterte ordered the putting of the Bureau of Customs under temporary control by the military.
PDuterte and his administration continue in their pursuit to clean the country from corruption. The 73-year-old Chief Executive has always been vocal on how much he hates it.
Recently, in line with the desire to clean the country from corruption, another move was taken – the Bureau of Customs was put by the President under temporary military control.
Based on a report on ABS-CBN News, Armed Forces of the Philippines Chief-of-Staff Rey Guerrero has taken over the control with regards to operation.
Speaking to ABS-CBN News, Justice Secretary Menardo Guevarra stressed that the move does not violate the civilian supremacy rule.
“The BOC chief is a civilian; the BOC is under the DOF; and the DOF is under the President,” he said.
