AFP Identifies Universities Linked To Alleged “Red October” Plot

The Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) has released the list of universities linked to alleged “Red October” conspiracy.

AFP said that the Communist Party of the Philippines (CPP) is allegedly trying to brainwash the students in different colleges and universities over Metro Manila.

CPP was allegedly inciting the students to conduct film showing depicting the dark years of martial law showing opposition to the government.

Brig. Gen. Antonio Parlade Jr., the assistant deputy chief of staff for operations of AFP said that the group was recruiting the college students as a part of the “Red October” plot aiming to oust President Rodrigo Duterte.

“May ongoing film showing sila about dark years of martial law sa mga class to incite students to rebel against the government, incite resurgence of the First Quarter Storm experience among students, while projecting President Duterte as the new Marcos,” Parlade said.

Parlade also gave the list of the schools:

  • University of the Philippines in Diliman and Manila
  • Polytechnic University of the Philippines
  • Ateneo de Manila University
  • De La Salle University
  • University of Santo Tomas
  • Adamson University
  • Far Eastern University
  • University of the East in Recto and Caloocan
  • Emilio Aguinaldo College
  • Eulogio “Amang” Rodriguez Institute of Science and Technology
  • San Beda University
  • Lyceum of the Philippines University
  • University of Makati (UMak)
  • University of Caloocan City
  • University of Manila and Philippine Normal University

The AFP executive also revealed how the Red October plot remains, which intended by the new People’s Army (NPA) to increase the offensive strategies against police, militaries, and civilians.
