Pres. Duterte Lashed Out Against Sen. Trillanes Upon Arrival From Trips Abroad

TRILLANES – Senator Antonio Trillanes IV reacted to the recent statement of President Rodrigo Roa Duterte.

The amnesty grant of Sen. Antonio Trillanes IV was revoked by Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte. The Palace stressed that the Senator has not complied with the minimum requirements. The AFP was tasked to assemble a court-martial.

The Senator, who is currently staying in the custody of the Senate, stressed that no evidence can be found against him. He also emphasized that he is not afraid of Pres. Duterte. According to him, he will neither escape nor resist arrest.

The revocation of the amnesty granted by former Pres. Benigno “Noynoy” Aquino III to Sen. Antonio Trillanes IV gathered different reactions. There are those who support it while there are those who were disappointed by it.

Based on a recent report on ABS-CBN News, Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte expressed that it was Solicitor General Jose Calida who found out about it. According to him, when Calida says that something is wrong and needs to be corrected, he cannot say no to the government lawyer.

The President broke his silence on the issue upon his arrival from his trips in Israel and Jordan. According to him, Sen. Trillanes pretended that he’s all for the military.

“He not only abandoned the vision of the military, he became a corrupt guy, collecting diyan sa mga negosyante,” he said.

Based on the report, Pres. Duterte also stressed that Sen. Trillanes did nothing. He emphasized that he’s close to then-Pres. Aquino and former Defense Sec. Voltaire Gazmin.

The Senator reacted to the statement of the President. According to him, different infrastructures were built on different camps.

“Whether barracks ng enlisted men, club rooms ng mga opisyal, quarters ng mga opisyal… Alam ng sundalo ‘yan,” the former Navy lieutenant said.

Based on the report, Sen. Antonio Trillanes IV also expressed that he is the principal author of the AFP Modernization Law. According to him, the government could not buy the equipment it is buying without the said law.

The Senator also stressed that he is also the author of the Salary Standardization Law 3. According to him, it increased the salary of the military personnel.

“Ang dinoble lang niya (Duterte), private lang ah. Ang mga opisyal, mas mataas sana ang kikitain nila kung ‘yung executive order ni President Aquino ang ginamit,” the Senator said.

Currently, Sen. Antonio Trillanes IV is staying under the custody of the Senate. Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte wants no arrest for him without the warrant.
