Duterte Revokes Grant of Amnesty to Trillanes
TRILLANES – Philippine Senator Antonio Trillanes IV spoke on the revocation of his amnesty grant.
It was under former President Benigno ‘Noynoy’ Aquino III in 2011 when Sen. Ant0nio Trillanes IV was granted amnesty. The navy lieutenant protested under the term of former Pres. Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo over alleged corruption in 2007.
Sen. Trillanes won a seat in the Senate despite his detention. In 2013, he was re-elected.
Recently, an unexpected announcement crossed the surface. The Palace revealed that the amnesty grant of the Senator was revoked by Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte.
Based on a recent report on ABS-CBN News, Malacañang said that Sen. Antonio Trillanes failed to comply with the “minimum requirements”.
The police and the military were instructed to use all the legal means possible to arrest the Senator while the Department of Justice and the court-martial of AFP were ordered to push through with the charges against him.
Based on another report on ABS-CBN News, Senator Antonio Trillanes IV broke his silence on the revocation of his amnesty. According to him, the revocation is “bogus” and “trumped up”.
Speaking to reporters, the Senator expressed that no case can be found against him.
“Wala silang mahanap na kaso sa akin so kailangan nila mag-imbento,” he said.
Based on the report, Sen. Trillanes is considering all the legal ways. He stressed that he would not get away or refuse arrest.
