Pres. Rodrigo Duterte Says Sorry to Former US Pres. Barack Obama
DUTERTE – Philippine President Rodrigo Roa Duterte apologized to former United States Pres. Barack Obama.
Previously, an issue sparked between Pres. Rodrigo Duterte and former US Pres. Barack Obama. It was after the latter commented on the former’s campaign against drugs. He earned tirades from the Philippine national leader.
The 73-year-old former Davao City Mayor recently flew to Jerusalem, Israel. He has met with the Filipinos in Israel at an event held at the Ramada Hotel.
Based on a report on Inquirer, during his speech, Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte apologized to former Pres. Barack Obama.
According to Pres. Duterte, it would be “appropriate” now to say that Obama is now a “civilian”.
“I am sorry for uttering words… If it is [in] your heart to forgive, you forgive,” he said.
Based on the report, the Philippine national leader also expressed that he has forgiven the former US President. According to him, he has forgiven him as he has forgiven his girlfriends before.
During his speech, Pres. Duterte also spoke about the PH-US relationship under Pres. Donald Trump. According to him, it has improved under his “good friend”.
PDuterte also revealed his side on the actions of Presidential Communication Operation Office Assistant Secretary Mocha Uson in front of the Pinoys in Israel.
The President admitted that some things went overboard. He also expressed that he knows that she has lots of enemies but he stressed that she is covered with the “freedom of expression”.
PCOO Asec. Mocha Uson recently earned criticisms over her viral video on federalism. Many people were disappointed by what she and Drew Olivar did. For the part of the PCOO Asec., she defended that it has nothing to do with the draft of the ConCom.
Furthermore, Uson also stated that it is not in line with the information drive.
