The former frontman of Rivermaya band, Rico Blanco, faces controversy after various kind of drugs were found inside the bar he co-owns.
Rico Blanco is formerly the lead vocalist of the band Rivermaya prior to becoming as an actor. He was previously linked to the Megastar’s daughter KC Concepcion.
But recently, he was put in the middle of controversy after it was found out that different kind of illegal substances was found inside the bar he co-owns, the Times Bar.
He and the other owners are facing complaints regarding Republic Act 9165 or Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

On Thursday, August 16, the authorities from National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) and Southern Police District (SPD) conducted a raid at the said bar in Makati City.
According to a report from The Manila Times, Blanco owns the bar along with Cynthia Primero, Ma. Amparo Marcalinas, Reyas Ladrilio, Burton Joseph Server 3rd, and Danilo Regino.
Assorted party drugs were discovered such as 17 small sachets of suspected shabu, two small sachets of cocaine, a cup with cocaine, hybrid marijuana, ecstasy, pipe with marijuana residue, and foil.
This is based on Chief Supt. Guillermo Eleazar. The search warrant was issued by the Makati City Trial Court.

Eleazar further said, “We are reviewing our agreement and we will be conducting dialogues on the different management of bars and other entertainment establishments in Metro Manila and it will be spearheaded by different district directors.”
“I hope this will give a stern warning not just to different establishments of bars in Metro Manila but also for the customers availing the services of these establishments to be responsible enough,” he added as per the report.
