NOYNOY AQUINO – Former Philippine President Benigno ‘Noynoy’ Aquino III responded to the open letter of Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) Secretary Alan Peter Cayetano over the territorial dispute between the Philippines and China.

The issue about the rightful owner of the West Philippine Sea has not yet come to an end despite the Arbitral Tribunal siding the Philippines and pointing out that China’s “nine-dash line” is not valid.

Based on a report, Chinese ships were previously spotted in WPS and it gained different reactions from the known personalities in politics.

Recently, former President Noynoy Aquino and DFA Sec. Alan Peter Cayetano were involved in an exchange of open letters mentioning about the territorial dispute between Philippines and China.

DFA Sec. Alan Peter Cayetano stated in his open letter that it is “regrettable” that former Pres. Noynoy Aquino chose to play with words in addressing the queries over the West Philippine Sea.

“While we both lost some of our hair, your administration lost control of Scarborough and a great opportunity to expand tourism, infrastructure and agriculture,” he stated.

The DFA Secretary cited eleven questions that he would like former Pres. Noynoy Aquino to answer. Here’s the open letter of the DFA Secretary:

Recently, based on a social media post on the Twitter account of The Philippine Star, former Pres. Noynoy Aquino released a statement in response to the open letter of DFA Sec. Alan Peter Cayetano.

In his statement, the former Pres. told the DFA Secretary’s questions can be answered “through a quick Google search”. He stressed that his statements, the actions done, and the positions of the parties are revealed there.

Aquino also stated in his statement that he has previously expressed warning during the “only NSC meeting” that he was invited to under the administration of President Rodrigo Roa Duterte. He revealed that he warned about becoming “too close with Beijing”.
