Victor Magtanggol Director Defends Show Over Copycat Issue
Victor Magtanggol‘s director Dominic Zapata gave a message to the bashers of the new GMA-7 fantasy television series mainly starred by actor Alden Richards.
The newest television series of GMA-7, Victor Magtanggol, has recently aired its pilot episode. Based on a report, AGB Nielsen and Kantar Media have released the episode’s rating. They also released the rating of the ABS-CBN primetime action TV series FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano which is top-billed by Coco Martin.
Undeniably, lots of people are comparing Kapuso’s new fantasy series with the Marvel movie “Thor”. As per a report, the TV series’ main actor Alden Richards has previously broken his silence about it.
According to the Victor Magtanggol star, the new program will bring more than what the viewers are expecting from it. He revealed that GMA-7 has invested so much for the fantasy TV series thus making him feel pressured.
Based on a recent report on Pep, at the media launch of Victor Magtanggol, the fantasy series’ director Dominic Zapata also broke his silence on the issue that it is allegedly copied from Thor.
The filmmaker admitted that he feels frustrated about it. According to him, Marvel also borrowed it from the Norse Mythology but they were not attacked by the Filipino people.
“Pareho lang tayong nanghiram sa Norse culture. So, bakit tayo ganun sa sarili natin?” he said.
Based on the report, the Victor Magtanggol director expressed a message to the people convincing others not to watch the fantasy series.
“Please understand na every show employs about over 200 people. Dalawang daang tao po ang umaasa sa kanilang programa para meron po silang kikitain, may madala silang hanapbuhay for the next three to four months,” Dom said.
Based on the report, the Victor Magtanggol director also appeals to the viewers to “give it a shot” as it is a quality work.
