Philippine Population Continues to Increase

PHILIPPINE POPULATION – The population in the Philippines has reached 106.4 million making the country the 13th most populous nation in the world.

The Philippines is undeniably one of the countries around the world with a very large population. Based on a recent report on PhilStar, the country’s population has now reached 106.4 million.

With the current counting, according to Commission on Population (Popcom) executive director Juan Antonio Perez III, PH is now the second most populous country in the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) region and the 13th around the world.

According to the Popcom executive director, the Philippine population is expected to increase by 1.8 million by the end of 2018. The expected population growth rate is at 1.69% adding 4,965 Filipinos daily or 206 Filipinos hourly.

Based on the report, the symbolic 100th million baby from the National Capital Region (NCR) named Chonalyn Sentino has recently turned four years old. The Department of Health and the officials of PhilHealth has witnessed her birth four years ago.

The said event highlighted the importance of maternal and neonatal health and as well as the value of family planning and responsible parenthood.

Popcom Executive Director Juan Antonio Perez III expressed that children in the Philippines aging four years old should have already been given full immunization and there is a monitoring on the status of their health.

Based on the report, in the pursuit of providing a quality life for the 100 millionth babies and as well as their families, some of them are part of the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program.

Furthermore, the Popcom regional offices have also checked on the health status of the kids in their area as part of the celebration of the birth of the 100 millionth babies in the Philippines.
