Pinoy Basketball Player Kobe Paras Joins UP Fighting Maroons

The Filipino basketball player Kobe Paras has joined UP Fighting Maroons and committed to play in UAAP starting Season 82.

On Wednesday morning (July 11, 2018), UP head coach Bo Perasol confirmed that Gilas Pilipinas cadet Kobe Paras will join UP Fighting Maroons.

The young basketball star will start playing for UP in UAAP Season 82 after a one-year residency period following the footsteps of his father Benjie Paras who lead the Fighting Maroons to UAAP championship last 1986.

The 20-year-old athlete explained that he is not only excited to play to UP but also to earn a college education.

“The University of the Philippines is the most respected educational institution in the country. The attraction of UP is not just its basketball program, which just gets better each year, but the world-class education it is known for,” Paras said quoted by ABS-CBN.

Paras’ decided to play for UP to become a better student in his chosen field and also for love in sports.

The young Paras was expected to play for UP next year together with his fellow Gilas Pilipinas cadet Ricci Rivero, Juan and Javi Gomez de Liaño.
