Andrew E. got lambasted on Reddit over alleged plagiarism.
ANDREW E. – The iconic rapper and singer Andrew E. got lambasted following plagiarism issue of his hit song “Humanap Ka Ng Pangit” (1990) from “Find An Ugly Woman” (1988).
Andrew E. is a well-loved and one of the most recognized rappers and singer of the Philippine music industry.
He is currently one of the “Sing-vestigators” in the Sunday show I Can See Your Voice hosted by Luis Manzano.
But recently, on Reddit, the rapper was accused of doing plagiarism with regards to his hit song “Humanap Ka ng Panget” released on 1990.

In a report from MYX, a Reddit thread circulated online calling out Andre E.
According to the thread, one Reddit user shared the music video of American hip-hop group Cash Money & Marvelous’ 1988 song “Find An Ugly Woman”.
The similarities between the song and that of Andrew’s hit was pointed out.
One Redditor stated “I don’t think he meant “Humanap Ka Ng Panget” as a parody. He claimed that he wrote it while at a bus.”
But the legendary rapper has said that he wrote his debut album where the particular hit song was included when he was hiding from the authorities following alleged involvement in a hit-and-run incident in 1990.

Moreover, another Redditor has claimed that “Andrew Ford Medina” song from 1990 also has similarities to Ton Loc’s “Funky Cold Medina” way back 1989.

Another Redditor has commented, “Pinakinggan ko yung first few lines ng ‘Find An Ugly Woman’ parehong pareho sa first few lines ng ‘Humanap Ka ng Pangit,’ tagalized lang. So, plagiarized talaga.”
