Ed Lingao Fires Back To Jay Sonza’s Post Of “Walang Breeding at Mababaw” Reporters

Ed Lingao breaks silence following inclusion on Jay Sonza’s controversial post.

ED LINGAO – The broadcast journalist Ed Lingao fires back to veteran reporter Jay Sonza’s controversial post about “walang breeding at mababaw o walang depth” reporters.

In a previous article, Jay Sonza has named reporters who got “no breeding and lack in depth” in a controversial post and “sad not” in Facebook.

The “bagong sibol” reporters were, as based on Sonza’s post: Joseph Morong, Kara David, Joel Zobel, Arnold Clavio, Alvin Elchico, Zen Hernandez, Karen Davila, Another Female Host At ANC, Ed Lingao, Lourd de Veyra, and among others.

Ed Lingao one of the reporters included on the note has fired back to the veteran reporter in a lengthy Facebook post.

Ed Lingao

“They’ve started coming out of the woodwork like wild mushrooms after a thunderstorm (or pagkatapos umihi ng kambing. Whatever you can relate to.). This time, it’s a “veteran” microphone-user (apologies but I prefer to reserve the term journalist for field people) who condescendingly and patronizingly tells the “bagong sibol” na reporters how they fail to meet his standards of respect, breeding, and depth of research. Wow,” Lingao stated in the first paragraph of the post.

He added that Sonza is just pretending to be a real journalist “who can just hold the microphone and fill up dead air”.

“Your forte, HIJO, is talk show and public service. Ok naman yun eh. Pero stop pretending to be what you are not. Many of the bagito reporters you named have much more experience in real journalism than you ever had in all your years broadcasting – because broadcasting, HIJO, is not the same as journalism.”
