The movie talks about a journalist, Jake Herrera, who is trying to find a solution for something which made him quit his job as a journalist and found himself being a teacher in Baguio.

See teaser below:

Jake Herrera is a son of a politician who is also pressured by his father to follow political footsteps.

Circumstances then have forced him to solve the brutal murder of a student from the institution he teaches in where it led him to encounter corruption and eventually face his own demon.

According to a report from Philippine Entertainment Portal (Pep), the director stated, “We, the people behind Citizen Jake are asking for your support in defending and protecting the film from those who may wish to harm it in whatever way, shape, or form and also from those who may want to use the film to gain political mileage for their causes.”

And recently, the film has left netizens abuzz after mentioning two of the famous politicians of the country.

Atom pointed out: “Sina Senator Sotto and Revilla, you have to watch the film first and you have to read the book by Primitivo Mijares.”

And when the politicians will have negative reactions towards the film, Atom simply said based on the report“I don’t want to speculate. Let’s just wait for it to happen if it does happen.”
