VICE GANDA – It’s Showtime host Vice Ganda clarified why he reacted to the negative criticisms of writer Gorgy Rula on the award that will be given to him by the Filipino Academy of Movie Arts and Sciences (FAMAS).
Kapamilya actor-comedian Vice Ganda is the very first recipient of the Dolphy Comedy King Award. It is set to be given to the Unkabogable Star this June. While many of his fans and supporters are happy about it, an entertainment writer criticized it.
Based on a report, entertainment writer Gorgy Rula emphasized that Kapuso actor-television host Vic Sotto has more achievements compared to the Kapamilya TV host. His criticism elicited responses from the latter.
Vice Ganda cited suggestions that will possibly make Gorgy Rula happy. One of it is that he will give the award to the entertainment writer after receiving it on stage so the latter can pass it to whom he wants to receive it.
Eric Quizon, the actor-director son of the late Comedy King Dolphy, has broken his silence over the award that is set to be given to Vice Ganda. According to Eric, it is a recognition and he informed the FAMAS to have a process in choosing for the recipient of the award.
Recently, talking to Pep and the Cinema News, Vice Ganda clarified why he reacted to the negative criticisms of Gorgy Rula on his FAMAS award.
The Kapamilya TV host stressed that he was not hurt. He revealed that he saw a report entitled, “Si Vice Ganda Napikon Sa Isang Reporter”. According to him, someone has to step up to defend the side of the actors and actresses.
“Pag kami inokray, dapat magkibit-balikat na lang kami. Pag sila ang inokray, iba ang dating,” he said.
Vice Ganda also stressed that it should be “give and take” – they will also give love when they will be given love.
Based on the report, the Kapamilya TV host was awarded as the Phenomenal Box Office Star at the 48th Box Office Entertainment Awards alongside with his Gandarrappido: The Revenger Squad co-stars Daniel Padilla and Pia Alonzo Wurtzbach.
It is reportedly the seventh time that Vice will be receiving the said award. The first one was for his movie Praybeyt Benjamin. He stressed that his heart is full joy and he is very happy and thankful to the people.
“Punong-puno ako ng pasasalamat dun sa mga tao… All these years, feeling ko I worked so hard. Nire-reciprocate ng mga tao, love yung ibinabalik nila sa mga sakripisyo ko,” he said.
