Increasing of workers’ pay and controlling of the prices of basic commodities are some of the major concerns of the Filipinos, according to Pulse Asia.
PULSE ASIA- Pulse Asia reveals that majority of the Filipinos’ urgent concerns are the increase of worker’s wage and control of inflation as per survey results.
Based on a report from GMA News, the survey conducted presents that over 50 percent of the respondents agreed that increasing workers’ wages is the most crucial concern that the Duterte Administration should address and give more attention to. Whereas 45 percent believe it was controlling inflation.
Analogous to the senatorial race survey as stated in a previous report, the poll for the most urgent national issue is also conducted to 1,200 registered Filipino voters, following the plus-minus 3 percent margin of error as the ideal sample size with 95 percent confidence level.
The subnational estimates for each of the geographic areas included in the survey have a margin of error of plus-minus 6 percent, with 95 percent confidence intervals as well.
Pulse Asia Conducted the survey from March 23 to 28.
As stated in the report, in a span of 3 months, specifically from December 2017 to March 2018, the number of Filipino citizens troubled with wage hike escalates by 11 percent.
Aside from the three aforementioned concerns that topped the survey, Filipinos were also concerned with poverty reduction, job creation, fighting criminality, graft and corruption and promoting nationwide peace. The other important national concerns that floated in the survey garnered 35 percent, 32 percent, 27 percent respectively. Both graft and corruption and promotion of peace obtained 22 percent votes.
Terrorism and Charter Change were the list of the Filipinos’ concerns.
Following Pulse Asia’s release of survey results, Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque stated in a press conference that the President’s concern is parallel than of most Filipinos.
“Pareho naman po ng concern yan ng ating Presidente. Mas komportableng buhay din ang gusto nating ibigay sa ating mga kababayan. So nagtutugma po ang kagustuhan ng ating mga mamamayan doon sa nais makamit ni Presidente Duterte,” he said.
