The “Queen of R&B” Kyla cried in front of her audience while performing a heartbreaking song which reminded her of a great loss.
Kyla is a singer and songwriter and one of those who had a great contribution to the Philippine music industry.
She had reached the peak of her prominence as a musician for her song “Hanggang Ngayon” which won the MTV Viewers’ Choice for Southeast Asia at the 2001 MTV Video Music Awards.
This has made her the first East Asian female artist to win at the MTV Video Music Awards.

All throughout her career, she has already received an MTV Video Music Award, twelve Awit Awards, four MTV Philippines Music Award, and six MYX Music Awards.
She is married to PBA player Rich Alvarez and had a 5-year-old son.

However, the people were shocked to know that she had suffered from a miscarriage this year as confirmed by her management.
This is following her performance in Eastwood, Quezon City, for the launch of her iTunes chart-topping album “The Queen of R&B,” which is her first since 2010.
She broke down in tears while singing a track titled “Proper Heartbreak” to where the lyrics talk about ending of a relationship but it had a different meaning to her after a shocking revelation of great loss in March.

Based on a report from ABS-CBN, Kyla has indicated while on stage, “Itong kanta na ‘to, because of an experience na nangayri last month, it gave a different meaning to the song. Actually, noong pinapakinggan ko siya, sabi ko, ‘Bakit ako umiiyak kung hindi ko naman siya na-e-experience? But naka-relate ako in a different way.”
Kyla continued, “I know there’s an angel watching over me right now.”
“I’m sorry, guys. Minsan talaga nagiging vulnerable tayo. Medyo nakaka-embarrass. I’m sorry, guys. You can never be really ready for things like that to happen. I was never prepared, but I know there’s an angel watching over me right now.”
