Mariel de Leon Reveals Side on ‘Scripted’ Comment on Catriona Gray
MARIEL DE LEON – Binibining Pilipinas-International 2017 Mariel de Leon apologized to the fans and supporters of Bb. Pilipinas-Universe 2018 Catriona Gray.
Undeniably, Mariel de Leon, the daughter of veteran actress Sandy Andolong with veteran actor Christopher de Leon, is one of the celebrities who have experienced intense bashing on the social media.
The actress-beauty queen is very vocal about her opinions on certain political issues and topics from different fields. There were netizens who support and agree with her stand and there were also those who believe the other side.
Based on a report, Mariel de Leon has even deleted her Twitter account which has paved the way for her to get into social media troubles.
Based on a report in Pep, Mariel de Leon was recently bashed by the fans and supporters of now Binibining Pilipinas-Universe 2018 Catriona Gray.
The bashing of the daughter of Christopher de Leon and Sandy Andolong came after the actress-beauty queen sat as one of the mentors of the candidates for ‘Binibining Pilipinas 2018’. The event gathered 40 beautiful and witty ladies.
According to the report, in her evaluation of Catriona Gray, Mariel de Leon said that she sounded “scripted”. Her statement sparked negative reactions from the fans and supports of the now Bb. Pilipinas-Universe 2018.
Speaking to the source, Mariel expressed that she did not mean to offend anyone and she is sorry if she did. She stressed that she did not do anything wrong and even Catriona believes it and as well as the other candidates for the pageant.
“We came from a good place and we all admire Catriona for her strength and how far she’s come in life, so I think that’s what we have [to do], just lifting Catriona up, especially now she’s Miss Universe [Philippines],” she said.
Based on the report, Mariel de Leon believes that her comment was just “misunderstood”. She stressed that being the judges, they were there to help the candidates grow and learn.
Aside from Bb. Pilipinas-Universe 2018 Catriona Gray, two other people who asked the netizens to stop the bashing of Mariel de Leon are Bb. Pilipinas-Grand International 2017 Elizabeth Clenci and Bb. Pilipinas-Intercontinental 2017 Katarina Rodriguez.
