President Duterte Threatened To Resign If Cops, Military Salary Will Not Increase In 2018, Bato Dela Rosa Says

PNP Chief Ronald Dela Rosa said that President Duterte has threatened to resign if the salaries of police and militaries will not increase in 2018.

Police Chief Director General Ronald “Bato” dela Rosa made the statement during the mass oath-taking of 753 police personnel promoted after fighting the Maute Terror Group in Marawi City.

Dela Rosa told the police personnel that President Rodrigo Duterte swore to resign if the salaries of policemen and military personnel will not increase.

“Sabi ni Presidente sa kanyang Gabinete at sa kanyang mga kaibigan sa Congress na if by the end of 2017, if I cannot fulfill my promise to increase, times two, ‘yung sweldo ng pulis at sundalo, magre-resign ako,” Dela Rosa said quoted by Inquirer.

Mr. Duterte would resign if he could not fulfill his promise because he had no face to show anymore.
